Cotto punched himself out of the fight, quite simply. THis go around he is gonna pace himself more and outbox him the whole fight.

a big part of boxing is psychological too. If margs hands were plastered, he knew he had to survive atleast six for it to harden, i.e. its easier to will yourself through punishment. If he didnt have the plaster, it would be easier to have your will destroyed when getting worked over, and not have anything to fight for.

Considering why his trainer said he wrapped margs hands for the mosley fight, it only makes more sense that he did wrap them ileggaly for the cotto fight.

Marg was caught attempting to cheat, did the time, and continued on. Besides that there's no evidence whatsoever that he cheated against Cotto or in any other fight.

I believe there's a possiblity he did, but if Marg does what he did to Cotto the first time all over again even within the same amount of time or even faster then i highly doubt it.

What i really don't buy about the theory that Marg was cheating for most of his career, is that it implies that every ref, commission official, & the oppositions corner who have to witness his hands being wrapped would have to be in on it, or completely incompetent.

Whether plaster was used by Margarito in the first fight or not, I don't know. But it would've seemed secondary to Antonio's chin. Fact is, Marg was walking through a tremendous amount of punishment, all so he could deliver some blows of his own...like a "Tijuana Terminator". Unfortunately for Tony, he's sustained incredible wear since then.

I see Cotto dominating like he did three years ago (can't believe it's been that long!), but Margarito won't have the same punch resistance. The tide will not turn this time. Antonio is one tough hombre, so I don't necessarily think Miguel will stop him, but Marg won't be able to get to him as in their first meeting. Cotto wins by UD.

apart from the controversy that followed post mosley fight, there still were things that cotto did wrong in his fight with margs. his defense was ass, and he barely went to the body. he needs to fix that. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know when to get out of the way of a punch.

One of you jokers try getting pounded with plaster for 11 rounds by a man who is already bigger than you and let me know how that works out for you. I could not possibly express my hatred for Antonio Margarito enough and it shocks me how so many of you still overrate him and suck him dry every chance you get. just sat and rewatched this...Damn Cotto his him with everydamn thins including the kitchen sink,TONY JUST LAUGHED AT HIM AND RAN FORWARD...WTF ****...Cotto quit after the first knee and wanted no more of that man...Tony is tough at nails amazing how he was never remotley hurt in this fight......how the hell is Cotto gnna beat this man..Tony has Cotto mentally shook imo and it Has to be on Cottos mind..sure he's the better fighter,faster,better skill set.but he can't hurt Tony and can't keep him off of him

people seem to forget that he dealt with cotto thoroughly and not just in terms of landing artificially-assistedly hard punches. know he loses respect for the dodgy handwraps but that (presuming he used them in that fight) was no way the only factor in destroying cotto. he destroyed cotto mentally because cotto despite landing anything and everything could not come close to keeping margarito away or avoiding margarito's punches.

epic beard or not there's no telling how much longer cotto would have lasted if marg's hadn't had said controversial wraps. the fact that he took all Miguel gave him does not automatically pardon him either. a suspension post mosley merits a cloud of su****ion over the cotto fight. period.
