Listen he pulled out of a fight with Mosley. He couldn't stay off the canvas with Ortiz. He needs to go blow thru Ortiz convincingly, go beat up Bradley who won't fight anyone. Go beat up Maidana, whom nobody wants to fight, then I'm sold on Berto. I'm tired of these guys that blow their shot, knockout a no-name, then claim they are back and want s big payday. Pacquiao, Khan, Maidana have been active with some wars. They deserve the big names, the big paydays. Floyd Mayweather is about to get knocked out by Victor Ortiz shocking the Boxing World. So maybe he can go redeem himself and blow thru Ortiz. I doubt it. I think Ortiz is gaining momentum, and ready for his rematch with Maidana after Mayweather's KO loss, then maybe Rios.

Berto having a title now is more than Hoya, Clottey and Mosley (who where coming off the worst performances of their careers) had.. let alone Margarito.

In fact Pac's only fought ONE WW titlist (at a catchweight). Berto is in a great spot to land a fight with Pac after "winning" that title and coming off 2 horrible performances. If history repeats itself, Berto will be in the Pac sweepstakes next.

Look for people to abandon the Berto hate ship if Bob selects Berto..

i really think they should consider a rematch, zaveck deserves one imo. i could see them facing malignaggi or mosley next though tbh, let's hope he gets another challenge again.

I disagree with the article that an Ortiz loss to Mayweather would make a Berto rematch less appealing. It wouldn't change anything. It would give Berto a chance to clear up that mess and make himself a credible opponent for Money or Pac.

If he doesn't get Ortiz next, I'd like to see Berto get a shot at Bradley or Khan moving up. He has to be an appealing fight to either because he has a belt. He beat Bradley twice in the amateurs, so one would think Storm wants a shot at him. And for Khan, who claims to want a Mayweather fight, winning a welterweight belt has to be appealing. That would make a Mayweather fight happen sooner rather than later.
