The common theory being pass around is that mayweather fights ortiz just like he fought mosley. i even heard that his main weapon would be his jab.
the latter comment being one of the silliest i've heard in the form of a serious statement.
why would mayweather not fully employ the fastest, most accurate right hand in the game against a southpaw?
i say he uses it as a lead, his main counter AND as a couple with his left hook in any 1-2s.
with that said, look for him to mix in opportunistic body punches in response to ortiz trying to take away the angles for that right hand.
if/ when mayweather's chin passes the punch test, look for ortiz to be gradually demoralized as he starts to believe that there is no way to stop that right hand or the other punches it sets up.
you can see it start to set in on judah...who came into that fight as the faster fighter, the harder puncher, the better boxer, who had faced more top-class competition.
clottey used that high guard to pick off any punches as he maintained the proper distance to land that lead right...mixing up punches to attack any holes in judah's defense in response to trying to stop that right hand.
