Nobody is saying that Zaveck was not cut already, before the headbut. It is obvious that Berto has done some damage, aswell as Zaveck did - Berto was cut over one of his eyes aswell and it was visible very well, at the end of the fight.
However, that little cut was not a problem. The problem was a hematoma, which was messed up by a headbut. Captures in the slow motion clearly shows, that Berto has run into Zaveck's right cheek and he did it hard. Nobody is saying that it was intentional, but it happened and this is a fact.
I have no idea how referee has failed to see it, becouse he was as close as he could be. He was watching Zaveck directly in the face when it happened and it was obvious that Zavec felt a big pain, when it happened. Blood has started running down his eye at this time, aswell.
And yeah, Zaveck is not and will not be talking about it. He is a fair and big hearted guy, who did not come in the USA to cause drama. He came to prove himself and in my opinion, he has done it. However, if not a rematch, another chance against a decent fighter in the USA, would be what he deserves. This match should of not end like that and everyone who knows shizzle about boxing, knows that.
It was Zaveck's plan to open up in the later rounds and it was obvious, that by every round, he was getting more dominant. Berto's footwork aswell as defence, are nowhere near Zaveck's level.

Nobody is making excuses. Who would say that Berto was no danger for Zaveck at all, is an idiot. However, the facts are speaking for itself.
Yes, it was a great fight and it would of been even better, if the headbut would of not happened. Yes, Berto has won the fight, but if you do not see what kind of damage has his accidental headbut, which was a consequence of his wobbly legs done, then you are not trying to be objective in the slightest.
You have to admit, Zaveck would of not been even close to as bloody as he was, if the headbut did not happen. His hematome was as messed up, as if a bloody truck would of drove over his face. But then again, Zaveck could of done much better with a better cutman and corner in the general.Comment

In case you didnt notice, the entire HBO crew were rimming Berto's hoop the whole night.
They didnt even comtemplate the possiblity of a headbutt.Comment
