They're there because after the fight... They go to Floyds dungeon to have orgy's.

I love to see celebrities at the fights personally. It reminds me that the sport still interests a wide range of fans.

I like it when the celebs are real fans of the sport and go to them because they enjoy watching, not because they want to be seen.

Charles Barkley is a boxing fan, I remember him saying when he was watching a college football game "you have to be a real man to play football or box, those are my favorite sports". Eddie Murphy is a big boxing fan too.

          It helps keep boxing relevant.

I don't mind the male celebrities being there, all men can appreciate a good tear-up regardless of whether they follow the sport.

But I'm not as ken when female celebrities are there who would openly say they hate boxing/fighting yet turn up just to dress up, be seen and show off their assets for attention.

I like it because it makes people who say "boxing is dead" look dumb.

Like Paris Hilton being at the podium at the Pac-Mosley post-fight press conference. That was dowright terrible. She also said it was a good fight.

I dont understand this elitist mentality that many "hardcore" boxing fans have. It's like theyre saying, "if you dont really follow the sport, you shouldnt be watching boxing at all." if that was the case, boxing wouldnt be on tv or ppv for us to watch and enjoy. we'd have to be there live.

also, fans are always asking for more exposure for the sport and when it does get its shine people complain about casual fans who happen to be celebrites. do people go to the superbowl who arent true fans of either team? do people watch the NBA finals? etc etc.

This elitist mentality needs to stop from the fans, promoters, and boxers.

not really directed toward you OP, just ranting about it in general.

I know Larry Fitzgerald, Jack Nicholson, and Denzel Washington are all Boxing fans and have seen and heard them talk about fights other than just the mega fights.
