  • Im sorry, but after last night, Berto is the next Jermain Taylor....

Berto didnt look good at all... He defense was horid, and his punch resistance was by far his worst attribute last night....

Zaveck isnt even known as a great puncher, and I could count a handful of times where Berto was visibly hurt, bothered, or wobbled by Zaveck...

I couldnt help but think of Jermain Taylor when I was watching Berto. It was such a dramatic difference. I have never seen him look that bad.... Reaching on punches, his feet were horrible, and offense didnt look as explosive....

Im sorry to say it, but Berto will eventually take a career ending KO in the not so distant future....

That's more appropriate than saying he's Meldrick Taylor-esque.

When I heard that I just went

I disagree, I think Berto is a top p4p player now that he regained the championship.

He's one of boxing brightest young stars for years to come.

      lol

When I heard that, I was looking at the TV with that scrunched up face people have when they say "What the ****??"

I couldnt believe they said that... Mel**** was slicker, faster, better, and through combinations with fluidity and ease....

That was a horrible analogy last night....

I was just dumbstruck listening to HBO compare Andre Berto to Sugar Ray Leonard and Meldrick Taylor. Berto like Leonard? Sure, the Leonard who fought Camacho. Berto like Taylor? Sure, like the one who fought Espana. They seem to go a little overboard at HBO about Berto.

It seemed like they were trying to build Berto up for the public.... They never really said anything negative about Meldrick Taylor or Sugar Ray....

Berto will be fighting someone of note next, there is no other reason why they would build him up like that....
