It's probably because he was more concerned about where he was getting his next meal than doing his homework and going to school as a child. Kids who grow up in abject poverty tend to lack in cognitive abilities. And Ortiz is still a bigger success than anyone on this board despite all of that.

This has been beaten to death, but I'll add my two cents: the Mayweathers and their world are reprehensible. The saddest part of it is that they choose to live the way they do, despite having made more money than 99.9 percent of humanity. (Yet more proof that money doesn't buy class.)
