Berto has to fight Randall Bailey next. After that, he'll be probably be looking for a 'big' fight.

Zavec needs to take a few months off, heal up, and get back into the ring as soon. If the rematch happens, it happens. Otherwise, there are plenty of other opponents and opportunities in boxing for him to pursue.

zavec's contract expires next year. i wonder if there is any us promoter willing to pick him up for a year or two?. because after what i saw yesterday, i don't think zavec should bother fighting in europe again. even though he fell to #13 boxrec he's the real deal.
well there is brooke and senchenko, both unproven. maybe zavec would be interesting for amir khan's ww debut? and malignaggi has been calling out for a while. still see some opportunity for zavec on televised undercards at least.

Rematches are a gift, not something you give out if a few people deem a fight somewhat close.

He can fight Shane Mosley or fight an up and comer like Mike Jones and push himself to the next level. Zaveck is an okay fighter but to HBO viewers(American audience), that win didn't do much. If Berto were to fight even a prospect like Jones it would mean more to his chances with one of the bigger names than just rematching Zaveck.

Cut the headbutt **** out too. Berto was winning that fight and was showing no signs of losing that fight. It's like complaining about a low blow in the second round when a fighter loses a lopsided fighter. "but but but he got hit in the nuts in the second round, he could never recover from that!"

Props to Zaveck for coming to the states and laying it all on the line. It's okay to not be the best as long as you try your best. His fans on the other hands or Eastern European supremacist no props to you. Zaveck is a good man.

That headbutt hit under Zavecks eye causing swelling not the cut, no blood from the right until another upper was landed, get over it

Honestly i don't know what ass are they pulling this crap from. Because Berto will avoid a rematch just like he did with Collazo. I think Berto will try to avenge his loss to Ortiz first, after he blows Bailey out of the ring. Berto has a strap now, and Ortiz will be selling his soon for a nice buck to Floyd, so the math makes sense. Berto-Ortiz II in Q2 2012.

If Berto honors that I'd be surprised. That fight was about to get out of control for him. On a side note, I can already see the amount of hate that Berto would get if he did fight Mosley next.
