Kevin Rooney absolutely adores Tyson, Ive seen him tell reporters that Tyson's **** was twice the size of John Holmes ****!

If you are looking for opinions on Tyson Rooney is one guy I would tend to take with a grain of salt!

Ali's combinations and release were faster...but with less power...Tyson's were almost as fast but with probably 2-3x the power...

      kind of like

      Ali's speed = 9 for a HW but power = 6
      Tyson's speed = 8 for a HW but power = 8-9

Though I feel Ali's power was sometimes underrated, he just didn't commit to his punches like Tyson did. When you put full power behind 5/6 of your combination punches, then your speed won't be as fast as Ali's. Plus Tyson had shorter compact arms and a tighter build so his punches didn't seem as fluid as Ali's. Tyson's punches were very short and sharp while Ali's were a bit fluid. Tyson had to reach in with punches while Ali just hand to fluidly land them.

What "I" find interesting is if I watch a lot of Ali's "not so big fights" NOW, he looks kind of slow. But I think that is because Ali was more so quick in his release of punches, but not devistatingly quick in combinations, just fluid and accurate at times.

yeah, when ali hit someone he was hitting to win points- not to kill/ruin their life

There were at least six or seven heavys from Tyson's time period or before who were at least just as fast as Mike.

            theres different kinda fast hands
what made ali so special was that he was a HW with fast hands that flowed
the only one ive ever seen that i could argue had serious hand speed
as in point A to point B with little to no effort

Floyd Patterson had the quickest handspeed I ever saw for a HW, even quicker handspeed than Cassius Clay's and a young Tyson's.
