Bernd Bonte says Wladimir Klitschko will fight again this year

    from Dan Rafael at ESPN:
Heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko, who scored a near shutout of David Haye in their July 2 unification fight, plans to fight again before the year is over, manager Bernd Boente told ESPN.com.

"He will fight in November or December for sure," Boente said. "We are still discussing different names [of potential opponents]." Boente said the fight could take place in Germany, where Ukraine's Klitschko has fought most of his career. "Wherever it is, it will be in the European time zone," Boente said. HBO televised Klitschko's fight with Haye and also will televise his brother Vitali Klitschko's heavyweight title defense against Tomasz Adamek on Sept. 10 from Poland.

However, Boente said he doesn't yet have an American broadcast partner for Wladimir's next fight. "We would love to do the fight again with HBO and, of course, we would like to have the fight covered in the U.S. So if HBO does not want to do it, we would want to work something out with Showtime or Epix."

Boente said there are four dates that German network RTL, which has a contract with the Klitschkos, has made available: Nov. 19, Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
I wonder who Wlad's opponent will be?

Maybe Vitali will fight again this year too, on one of those December RTL dates.

I suppose they will wait until after the Adamek vs Vitali fight just incase Adamek pulls of a massive upset which i doubt.

Yes, that's probably why no names have been mentioned yet.

Wlad will want a fight with Adamek if he somehow manages to beat Vitali.

Is Wlad the only "superstar" in boxing to actually fight 3 times a year?

Floyd fights whenever he wants to make some money and goes broke (every 1-2 years)
Manny fights twice at the maximum.

I dont get why people stop fighting 3 times a year? It keeps you active and you build your cash, more time in the gym getting ready for a fight means less time spent getting into trouble.

Wlad is on pace to fight twice this year. He's stated that he wants to fight thrice a year but boxing, as it is, hasn't not allowed him to do so...

My bad, I kept confusing the dates, yea. They need to fight 3 times a year to be honest. I guess theres nobody to fight? Since you promote the fight for a few months/train/rest x repeat.

Would be nice to see tho, fighting January / June / October or something like that.

This has always been one of my biggest gripes with boxing - the superstars of the sport only seem to fight twice a year. However, guys like Rios, Khan, Alvarez seem to be bucking that trend as they, and their promoters, see the benefit of fighting relativley frequently..

I think when you get to the very top it changes. Its very hard to get good opponents, you have to coordinate with all the leech commisions and see who your "mandatory is", negotiate with them, wait for them.

While a guy without a belt like Arreola can fight 10 times if he wants to, but when you get a belt or two it becomes much harder.

You have to promote the fight, etc, etc, etc. I would like to see 3 fights in 1 year by all the top guys to prove who really is the best.

Take ***** for instance, is it that impressive if you fight once every 2 years and cherry pick your opponents?

Imagine all the top guys going on vacations for 2 years at a time just to come back and fight 1 dude and go back on vacation, Boxing would die.

Thats one of the reasons I hate Floyd, he is making a mockery out of boxing and his fans are buying it up, they dont realize he doesnt care about the sport or the fans, he just wants to make some easy money and go chill in a casino.
