Thats the press conference to their second fight. Basically what happened was, after their first fight Erik shook Barrera's hand, Erik handed the WBO belt back to him and everything. It all seemed like it was cool. He did his interview in which he was humble and everything and he left. However as soon as they interviewd MAB he went on to talk hella smack saying that hopefully HBO sees Morales isnt worth a damn. He would later show up in numerous talk shows in Mexico in which he would always talk smack. Of course Morales took it very personal and in the press conference Morales talked smack too... When they were up close Barrera said i bet u dont say **** now, to which Morales called him a big mouth Marica (***). To which Barrera responded by sucker punching Erik.

You gotta admire Eriks' toughness though in that vid... He gets popped in a split second he is already firing back at him. Just crazy.

And people ask why Erik wont shake Barrera's hand.

It started because Barrera said Morales was too poor to afford decent shoes. Being from Tijuana and all.

They were on tour to promote their second fight, that incident took place in Houston, the next day they were here in El Paso. During the press conference, when Erik was introduced and he was walking towards the podium, people started chanting "quiere llorar, quiere llorar" meaning "he wants to cry, he wants to cry." A little humor meaning that Erik took a punch and couldn't get even.

i got this story from barreras website as to why marco punched morales at the press conference, it was before their second fight, its a bit of a read buts its worth it:

After all the talk about Marco and how terrible that was that he punched Morales I wanted to inform you all on the facts about Morales. He is not the victim but the cause behind the punch. I just want to show you both sides and that way you can judge foryourself.

Erik Morales challanges then Champion Daniel Zaragoza to a fist fight on the street. Zaragoza might have accepted but he was in company of his wife & kids.

Erik Morales asked Marco if he could use his asst. trainer for his upcoming Title shot vs Zaragoza. Marco answered sure, if he wants to. Sendai Tanaka helped prepare Morales and then is the one who lifts him as he is declared the winner. He later asked him to stay as he was now Champ, Tanaka said his job was compleded and he was to return to his Team. Morales later recruited Marco's mit man who still works with Morales - Fernando Fernandez.

While Marco was preparing for an upcoming fight Erik offered to spar with him. While sparring Morales pushed Barrera and later went around telling everyone that he had dropped him. Luckily there was a tape on the incident and was shown to the media. Erik never mentioned the issue again as he was the one who had been beat.

While both prepared in Mexico, Morales challenged Barrera to a soccer game. Erik had rested that day and Marco had just finished training and eating. He was resting when Morales sent someone to issue the challenged. Originally Marco said no but later accepted. It was to be Team vs Team but Erik recruited some of the villagers. After a couple of contact between them Erik threatned Marco that if he kicked him again he would Kick his a??, to which Marco responded by kicking him again. Erik backed away taking off his watch and acting like no your going to get it.

Before the Feb. 19th, 2000 fight Erik called Marco a failure and that he would knock him out in 4rds. He also bad talked about Marco's family.

During the days leading upto the fight Morales discussed that after he KO'D Barrera he would go after Hamed. He also said that this would be his last fight at 122 as he was struggling to make weight.

The day of the weighin Morales weighs 121 to Marco's 122 and even weighed less on fight night. Everyone know that if you have trouble making weight you ballon up quickly.

After the fight Morales was awarded a WBC medallion which he took to Marco in his dressing room and told him here you won this and sorry it was not my fault!

After Marco beats Hamed, Morales upset says that Hamed was nobody and that Barrera looked average.

He then shows up to a Mexico City TV station that is enterviewing Barrera. There are many issues discussed and Morales promises there will be no more bad talking on his part.

At a fight card in California, where Erik's younger brother is fighting the crowd starts to taunt Erik. They begin to yell "watch out with Barrera", "run here comes Barrera" and so on. He loses it and tells them along with an arm gesture to Kiss Off....

In a interview on TV, Erik calls Marco a "mariquita" *****!, he also says Marco is like a dog for money would do anything. This was after the reporter asked him if he would fight in Mexico City. He said because of dignity no, but he knew Marco would fight in Tijuana. He said like the saying goes with money dance the dog.

News sufaces that Marco not only tals about Morales but also about all the people of Tijuana. This is lies as Marco frequently visits Tijuana and has also dedicated the fight to Tijuana.

At the first press conference in Los Angeles, Erik was very quiet and very brief.

Later on the day before the Houston press conferance in Los Angeles he was interviewed by a L.A. paper and called Marco among other things a Coward & *****.

After the incident in Texas, it was published in a Tijuana newspaper (That indorses Morales) that Barrera had punched Erik in the back. Luckily for TV that people cannot be lied to.

On a television interview he claims to have hit Marco with his finger and that Marco is seen rubbing his jaw, he says that if his finger hurt Barrera that much that he is sure that a punch would have dropped him. He says Marco was very scared of him.

In Tijuana he along with his Promoter are being investigated of fixed records of opponents & fixed fights. This appeared in a Tijuana newspaper.

This is just a little info on Mr. Erik Morales who is trying to act like a victim of what happened at the press conference the other day. In my opinion the whole situation is being blown out of context. This is making Marco into the bad guy & Morales as the victim. There is a double standard here as it was not as bad to offend a nation by the throwing of the flag or it was not bad to wrestle on national TV. But people all calling what Marco did a sucker punch, when Erik challenged him right there. So was Marco suppose to wait to get punched to see if Morales was bluffing or was seriuos? So regardless of what is being written, people must remember that yes they should act like professionals but after it is all said they are both human and both fighters and that like all humans they have their limits. On Tuesday in Houston,Texas Marco reeched his. If this was bad to boxing fans and especially to his fans, we apologize and ask for your understandin and continous support.

LOL...yeah right. I'm one of the few sensibles on this board. Please get your **** straight. AND PS, I'm bigger than MAB and can handle myself in the ring. He would not be knocking me out. He'd beat me easily but sorry, no KO.

But that still doesn't change the fact that he hits like a girl in that clip and is a ***** for doin that.
