FYI Berto called out Cotto and Floyd.Cotto said he has no interest in fighting Berto and Floyd went on vacation. And Berto was gonna fight Mosley but Berto pulled out cause his heart was`nt gonna be 100 % in the fight cause the earthquake incident in Haiti which killed 6 members of his family. So its not like Berto Was`n trying to make good fights.

And Bero has fought some decent to good competition like,Forbes,David Estarda,Luis Collazo,Ortiz and Carlos Quintana. So its not like he fought bums his whole career.

And how come Lucian Bute hardly gets any criticism for his years of cherry picking?

To be fair, Berto was one or two punches away from finishing Ortiz when they fought. I believe the ref was looking like he was about to stop the fight before Ortiz went into beast mode.

Bottomline is that Andre Berto was lunching. I remember him talking about how he was going to make Ortiz quit again and that he was going to basically manhandle Vic but once he got beat, all of a sudden "he wasn't there that night". Same thing happened to Lopez, Kirkland and a bunch of others this year that just tried to look good against tune ups. Boxing has turn to something else. I don't remember a time in boxing where the best guys had to beg the best guys to fight. Hopefully this experience has taught Berto to stop trying to coast.
I agree, but I have no doubt that berto's handlers especially al haymon will never put him in a risky fight again, and if they do, they will make sure they have the right refs and judges to give berto the victory.

When Berto dropped Ortiz in round six I thought he was going to finish him. Ortiz looked around to find his corner and it looked like he wanted to quit and then BOOM Ortiz drops Berto!!! what a fight lol

In no way should he be compared to Lucian Bute. At least Berto has made efforts to fight some big names.

He was scheduled to fight Mosley before the Haiti disaster got in the way. And he wanted to fight Pacquiao but of course Arum only cherry picks easy fights for his boy so that wasn't going to happen.

True! Cotto didn't want it or better yet. Arum didn't want it. The Mosley fight didn't happen but the 2nd time around Berto priced himself out.
