Wladimir Klitschko: “If in your life you achieved something, do something for others, help those in need. My brother and I adhere to this principle!”
On October 7th at 11:00 in Brovarsky Tech School of physical training, Wladimir Klitschko held a press conference. The main topics were: his fight with Samuel Peter on September 24th and presentation of charitable project that the “Fund of the Klitschko brothers” is realizing in Ukraine.
President of this fund, Anna Starostenko, opened press conference.
“Vitali and Wladimir deserve much respect not only by their achievment in sports, but also because of their active public life and strong support for charities. The Klitschko brothers took part in various charitable projects not only in Ukraine but all over the world,” spoke Anna. “ Today’s project, that we would like to bring to your attention, was realized through help of the Klitschko brothers and other partners. Full repairs were done and equipment was added to the boxing hall, gym, recreation center and school’s dormitories. This is one of a ways that the “Fund of the Klitschko brothers” is addressing problems of education for teenagers as well as attracting younger generation to a healthy way of life.”
Then Wladimir continued introductory speech.
“I’m glad to welcome all those gathered here, and would like to introduce you to our first step in realization of our project to help children who are the future of our nation. However to carry out such projects without necessary financial help would be impossible. I want to thank our partners who shared this financial burden. It’s our Ukrainian partner “UKRNET” and international company “METRO”.
Answering journalists’ questions, Wladimir stated that the Klitschko fund has existed for ten years and funded many projects as well as worked with UNESCO to help kids in need and to provide an education for them. Moreover, Wladimir has stated that in near future its fund and their partners will carry out full repair of this school.
Also Wladimir recalled his early years, studying in this school as well as answered questions about his fight with Samuel Peter.
After press conference ended, Wladimir spend the rest of his day visiting repaired training hall, gym, recreation center, dormitories and even had a dinner together with students in a dinning room.
