For any of you basketball fans out there, remember when Alonzo Mourning caught Scottie Pippen with an elbow to the forehead and created a big knot on his head? I need my knee swell up like that once. I went up for a pass and came down straight on my knee. It swelled up like to insane proportions but it wasnt really painfull. The coach looked at and said its just water. Dont know if he was correct or not but I was to practice the next day.

No, it's a secretion from your body to protect your bones. It's not really water, but, it's not blood. You have to be caught just right to get that kind of effect, though.
