Comments Thread For: Loew: No Contact From Pavlik Since He Withdrew

Speaking with The Plain Dealer, trainer Jack Loew informed the paper that former middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik has not called him in several weeks. Pavlik was scheduled to return on August 6th in Youngstown for a fight Showtime televised fight with Darryl Cunningham. Pavlik was unhappy with his purse for the bout with Cunningam, but he was more upset with a guaranteed offer of $1.35 million for a clash with IBF super middleweight champion Lucian Bute.

What does Pavlik do for a job now? Doesn't he own his own bar or a couple bars?

Didn't Pavlik check himself into rehab a few months ago due to ******* problems? I pity this man and I am worried for him.

i think so - im pretty sure he owns at least one, and dabbles in other real estate type deals.

ill still support pavlik, but **** it, if he doesn't wanna fight for his fans oh well. . . he's gotta do what he's gotta do i suppose.

I like Jack Lowe, and he has been 100% loyal to Pavlik, but if Kelly ever decides to come back, he'd be well served to get himself another trainer. Lowe has taught Pavlik all he can teach him. At the championship level you need to do more than just "double up that jab...".

I completely agree with this, word for word

Pavlik has been in a dark place for sometime now.

I hope he can find himself again and get back to boxing (doing what he does best).

PAvlik is done. Calling more than 1 million dollar "peanuts" was the most ****** thing i had heard for years. I think he has lost most of his fans TBH. Well, maybe he will comeback and if he double that ****ing jab, maybe he will do well again. Let's hope.
