    During an interview with Univision, Golden Boy Promotions President Oscar De La Hoya said he thought about suicide and continues to attend rehab because of his additictions to drugs and alcohol. The network provided an translated transcript of the interview. De La Hoya has cleaned up his life, staying sober for the last three months and joined Alcoholics Anonymous. De La Hoya retired in 2009 after a 16-year career.

    It's tough to know who you are when the limelight is off you.

    Given the way Oscar ended his career, I can understand the dark thoughts and I'm happy he didn't go through with them.

    There's enough suffering in the world already.

            stay strong oscar. you have lived a brilliant life and have had a brilliant career that has served to inspire many children and even adults. . . we all got our demons - and the toughest battles we fight are with ourselves. good to hear you are doing better.

                    Man this is sad.. FOr guy as successful as he is, you'd think he wouldn't go thru these kind of situations. I wish him the best, I've never disliked Oscar.

                    If it was Mayweather.. it would be totaaaaally different.
