Arturo Gatti vs. Marcos Maidana

Not sure.

When Maidana is supposed to lose and get shut out easily, he does better than expected. When he's supposed to kill his opponent, he looks like crap[Corley, Morales].

Gatti was Gatti, he was always gonna come to fight, come forward fighter. You expected him to lose. I mean, really, you should expect Maidana to beat him by TKO. But seeing how Maidana makes shot fighters look good, I don't think Gatti has to be prime to look good against Maidana.

Gatti stops him, he's just more durable and a better all around fighter. Can anyone here name ONE thing Maidana has over Gatti?

Maidana is bigger and more powerful, has the height advantage at 140, he's the tallest there along with Khan. And Maidana has the handspeed advantage, although they're both relatively slow. Maidana also has the better wins, better showing against top opponents. Gatti lost his big fights pretty bad, especially the one to Pretty Boy, lost to DLH, the average fighter Manfredy. Gatti got several good wins though. He's just not a better fighter. It would be a great fight though. With Maidana, you could make a modern day Gatti with him, but better, because he is a better fighter, imo.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one because I can't see a thing Maidana does better. I give the speed advantage to Gatti, both have the same amount of power, Gatti's the better combination puncher, he puts them together alot better and I've seen Gatti box well.

Manfredy's a good boxer though and that fight was stopped due to a serious cut. Things could have possibly gone different had that not occur, but no shame in losing to Manfredy, who gets underrated on here.

I know Gatti didn't always win all the big ones, but Maidana would have most likely fallen in the same fashion had he faced that kind of opposition.

tough fight, like -Kev- said, maidana sometimes gives the opposite performance you'd expect him to give. i think it'd be a tough fight, but maidana getting the nod, sort of like maidana/morales.

also, isn't there a fantasy fight section where you can post these matchup threads up? they're cool and all, but i think they belong there, nsb is sometimes cluttered with simple question threads like these.

Gatti would beat Maidana up.

Gatti is tougher than Maidana and does everything better than him. And I do mean EVERYTHING.
