WBA/IBF junior welterweight champion Amir Khan has the advantage to land a mega-fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. in 2012, according to Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer. Khan's ability to bring money from the UK and his traveling crowd of British fans is going to place him ahead of the line for a Mayweather payday. Khan returns to action in what is likely going to be his final fight at 140 on December 10, while Mayweather challenges WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz on September 17.

Of course he does. Mayweather and Golden Boy already have this fight set for next year. Only reason it will be in December and not May is because Mayweather will take another year off after Ortiz. They've been milking each other for a while now, with Ortiz being Mayweather's 5th fight in a row against a Golden Boy fighter.

Over the years hatton brought less fans to his fights than when he fought Mayweather, People arent just coming to support Khan or Hatton, They want to see how they would do against the best boxer in Mayweather and thats why they come in thousands when any british guy faces the top name guy.
