Comments Thread For: Froch: Ward Can't KO Me, But I Know I Can KO Him!

First of all - Froch talks like he's in school and has arranged a fight after school with another kid. That's the kind of talk you hear then trying to scare the other kid.
'jaw shot in the cranium' and 'make his legs shake'
Come on dude, does he really expect that to worry Ward get in his head.
I think people a majorily clutching at straws looking Ward's knock down and the Taylor TKO.
For a start wasn't Ward like 6 fight novice and operating at MW then?
Whereby he realised he was weight drained and subsequently moved upto to SMW.
Secondly, Ward has been in with Kessler (who Froch himself has stated is a big puncher) and AA who Froch said had bricks in his hands.
AA being arguably the biggest puncher in the tourney. When you look at the Taylor fights between Froch and AA, Froch had to land many shots and Taylor was very buzzed but not out and stopped on his feet.
AA put Taylor to sleep with one shot big time, resulting in a trip to hospital.
Ward has faced both Kessler and AA and stood up to flush shots no problem, he's been there at the final bell.
Sure Ward isn't going to take flush shot after flush shot in a war but both Kessler and AA landed good shots and Ward stood up to them.
So, I don't see that if Froch lands Ward's going to go - AA hits harder and he didn't.
Sure if Ward was going to stand in front of Froch and have a war - a repeat of Kessler Froch type fight, then my money would be on Froch all day long and by stoppage.
But Ward isn't going to fight that way.
Ward is so much better than anybody in the SMW divison tactically and defensively.
I'm not saying Froch can't stop Ward, but I don't see it and I certainly think some people are clutching to some wrong signs in hope of it.Comment

It is - Froch knocked down to Taylor who barely made the standing 10 count. When the referee elected for him to continue, it was obviously Froch was on the verge of knocking him out completely from the first 3 maybe 4 shots that Froch threw in succession which landed dead flush. The referee stopped the fight.Comment

I think Ward is slick though and get's inside and throws alot of short punches .I think he'll get past Froch's jabAndre Dirrell:
Height: 6′ 2″
Reach: 75"
Carl Froch:
Height:6' 1"
Reach: 75"
Andre Ward:
Height: 6' 0"
Reach: 71"
As you can see Froch holds physical advantages over Ward and personally i feel Dirrell is faster and a better boxer than Ward.
If Froch can establish that jab against Ward, especially with a 4 inch reach advantage, it could be crucial.Comment

it's fine that Froch feels that way -- but conisering that nobody has come even remotely close to even bother Ward for a second in the ring, I don't see Froch KOing him -- more likely, Ward will win a decision in a close and competitive fightComment

This froch is starting to grow on me, the direll fight turned me off a bit, I thought he lost, but worse it was a terrible show. Then Kessler, Abraham and Johnson were all greatly entertaining fights against the cream off the crop. One thing for sure, the run the Cobra is on right now is far more impressive than anything Calzaghe ever did. Ward and Bute and he's a first ballot hall of fame, and doing it on the road makes the achievement that much greater. Tough road, good luck Carl.Comment
