8CN – What's up D?
DL – Nothing much, just getting it in every day with Floyd Mayweather Jr.
8CN – We will get to that in a second. I'm guessing you yourself would like to be more active in your career. What's the latest with you?
DL – I would like to be more active, but it's kind of hard to find somebody to fight me. I'm kind of in the middle of this IBF eliminator thing right now. That's where I am stuck at.
8CN – It's gotta be tough to deal with when you have bills to pay.
DL – Yea I have to bills to pay. I have to keep that bread coming in.
8CN – Do you have anything lined up?
DL – Not that I know of. As soon as I know something you guys will know it.
8CN – How's the experience been for you sparring the great Floyd Mayweather Jr?
DL – It's been the best experience ever for me. To be with the world's greatest athlete is overwhelming. When they called me, there was no questions, I had to come.
8CN – What goes through your mind when you are in the ring throwing hands with that guy?
DL – Well you already know when you are in there with him that you are in there with the world's best, so you just give him what you can give him. I'm not in there trying to take his crown or to beat up on him, I just do what I have to do to get him ready for his fight. I give him what I can give him.
8CN – How's Floyd looking so far?
DL – He looks great. He is the best. It's an inspiration because when you look at him training 24/7 it makes you want to do that.
8CN – Freddie Roach told me one time a long time ago that Floyd knocked on his door at like 2 AM and asked if he could use the gym (Wild Card), that's amazing.
DL – Dude, who wouldn't dream to be that one day. To be able to get to the point when you can train anytime you want?
8CN – This was like 2 AM in the morning. I think Freddie actually likes Floyd Jr.
DL – I have no complaints about Floyd. He's a very likeable guy. I haven't seen anything bad about me. He treats all of us with respect. I have no complaints.
8CN – What's it feel like to spar with him?
DL – Everybody you spar with is different. With him being pound for pound best in the world, words can't explain how it feels.
8CN – Were you in the gym when Floyd and his dad got into it on 24/7 ?
DL – I wasn't there but even if I was, that's what they have going on, I have no part of it. I have no comments on that.
8CN – Do you think Ortiz has any punchers chance to win?
DL – I mean every fighter has a chance when you step in there. It just depends on what happens when you get in there. It's up to Floyd and Victor to decide on fight night.
8CN – I think Ortiz will be in for a big surprise. I know the Berto fight was nice, but Floyd is not Berto.
DL – Not by a long shot. Come Sept 17th it will all pan out then. Floyd's in good shape, and he is ready to go.
8CN – What about Manny Pacquiao Vs. Marquez? Who do you think wins that fight?
DL – I haven't even been keeping up with that fight. Best of luck to both guys though. May the best man win.
