People can say what they like, i'm glad Evander is getting a shot. If he wants to fight so be it. Haye and Wlad put on a disgraceful show and that was fine, why is it an issue for Evander to continue when he insists on it?

The rather obvious difference is that everyone was clamouring for that fight. Who the hell's clamouring for this farce? Holyfield can box till he's ninety for all I care, so long as he stays the hell away from the title picture.

Only this time... Holy is given a chance & the enire boxing world is starting to believe.. & there you have it... the setup.. 2 greatest heavies of alltime one who's 50.. the other who's 40.. one fighting for family honor.. the other fighting to get what he set out to achieve against the entire world's refusal to sanction & believe it.

If faced with the choice of Klitschko or Holyfield I definatley see Povetkin making a defence against Holyfield this year. Its the obvious choice for him to get a win over a name in a seemingly easy first defence.
He wont get much props going after a guy who is half a century old but it will be a high profile fight for him regardless.

Im not one of those people calling for Evanders retirement becuase I dont think he is anymore at risk than anyone else out there. He has a wealth of experience and knows how to protect himself. He hasnt been close to being knocked down in years and has been in two world title fights ( one he should have got the decision in )

Against a smaller come forward guy like Povetkin Evander actually has a decent chance. I know that seems absurb but look past the age thing and just see the styles of these guys. Holyfield can use his best weapons in this fight and we knows those heads are going to be ****ing with these two. Add to that Povetkins inexperience and willingness to go toe to toe and we have a good fight. Im sure Evander gives it a better effort than Haye every Yank who has challenged for a title recently.

I often wonder if it isn't Evander's plan to outlast everyone else in the division until he can win a vacant belt against someone as equally shot as he is (Rahman maybe)
