Why did HBO stop making Boxing Legendary Nights?

A few years back it was rumored they were going to do another series and it was also rumored that the second edition would include Tito/Vargas and Tito/Hopkins within that series.

BUT, “rumors” have just as much credence as mythical matchups!

Because it wreaked havoc on HBO? The failure to secure the right licenses weakened HBO and left them open to having to eat terrible fights from Top Rank like Margarito-Kyvelos among other calamities. They spent more effort on that silly show than they did on the boxing going on on their network
