    Cotto-Margarito Trilogy?

I know, the rematch hasn't even happened yet, and Cotto has to bring his A game even at this level to beat a non-stop-pressure fighter like Margarito, but I do believe that with Emmanuel Steward, the game plan will be to work the body, never stop jabbing, and reserve energy for the later rounds to go in for the kill (by Cotto's decision, Emmanuel Steward doesn't mind ending it boring)..

but saying Cotto wins and it's another CLASSIC like the first fight, there will definitely be a trilogy, I'm actually looking forward to that, but let's say that's not an option or say Cotto loses, what options do they have afterward?

What's next for Miguel Cotto or Margarito for who ever wins?

I've thought about this as well... It's a possibility, I mean, if the rematch turns out to be close - why not?

I was thinking the same thing with Marquez-Pacquiao. If JMM actually pull off the upset you can bet Pacquiao will want a rematch, which would be their 4th fight against each other.

I really want Cotto to win decisively and hopefully either embarrass and make Margarito look bad by outclassing him with his skills or giving him a serious beatdown. Or both.

And I like Margarito by the way.. I just like Cotto more.

if cotto wins in a classic fight? yeah. why not. but if he some how dominates it, pass.I'm still thinking floyd will fight him at that point. i don't see anyone else that floyd would fight after ortiz aside from cotto or khan, but khan won't be ready yet.

I don't really think a trilogy is in order because this rematch will tell us everything we need to know even if it is exciting. Cotto after that would set his mind on landing a Pacquiao fight.

well, that's what people pay to see, meth. question marks and fireworks are what trilogies are made of.

Yeah but what question marks would be left in a third fight? The second one has everything you could ask... did Margarito cheated? will his eye hold up? Will Cotto be able to keep the fight in the middle of the ring? Can Cotto beat a pressure fighter like this? Is Margarito weight advantage too much? I mean you could go on and on this rematch is full of question marks that should get answered.

unless cotto dominates, they'll still be 1-1. we still won't know who's the better fighter between the two.

If Cotto wins he can close the Margarito chapter and move on to cementing his legacy. If Marg wins he can finally prove that the biggest win of his career was not because of the plaster. Then he will be able to get back to making a living as a ppv boxer against other top fighters and not have the public scrutinize his every move because of his past.

IMO no trilogy regardless who the winner is.

If Cotto wins this fight and its another classic, then a trilogy must happen. Many ATG and HOF fighters have trilogies under their belt and its a great sign to have that one rival where on paper, everything is thrown out and just two cats just going at it.

If this is a whitewash in Cotto's favor, then no need, but it won't be, so bring on the trilogy if Cotto wins
