Who's ducked the most top opponents in boxing history? (ALL TIME)?

Going all the way to it's beggining, talking history of boxing wise... Who's ducked the most top opponents through their careers?

I'd have to say that I know of a few who priced themselves out at times and were good negotiators and wanted things their way BUT would still get the fights done like Ray Robinson..

But I can't think of another one besides Mayweather who's bltantly ducked the top names at his division for as long as he has.

SO my vote goes to Floyd Mayweather. You?

What is the point of this thread?

Mayweather doesn't care about legacy, he just cares about the money he makes.

      Get over yourself.

He doesn't have to fight Pacquiao nor does Pacquiao have to fight him.

When time comes to look at both fighters legacys, both fighters will have flaws that'll taint their legacy.

You can't make an argument for the bold.

Cotto never came to the table, never even attempted a deal with Floyd.

Pacquiao was the one who DIDN'T agree. The fight can still happen though.

The only person you can only really legitimately make a case for is Margarito.

Floyd has ducked just one or two guys in his whole career. That's it.

So the TS is an idiot.

Pac has ducked one or two guys his whole career as well.

Roy ducked one or two guys as well.

Ray Robinson ducked one or two guys as well

JMM has ducked one or two guys as well.

Plenty of more examples can be named.

              As for the question? I don't know....Maybe Dempsey(HW)?

Margarito, no doubt Floyd avoided Margarito. No matter what excuses anyone comes up with. Doesn't change the fact that Floyd avoided the hell out of Margarito for whatever reason.

However, he didn't avoid Cotto nor Pacquiao.

Just because a fight doesn't happen doesn't mean it's a duck. It takes two to make the fight happen.

Why are you mad like that bro?

You did hit the nail in the head with your second statement though.

Mayweather has not only ducked fighters, he has ducked the right time to fight them as well. In other words, he ducked the best fights available at that particular time.

When Mayweather made the leap to 140 he fought a washed up Gatti instead of Hatton, who at the time was a way better opponent than Arturo. When he jumped to 147 he fought Mitchell instead of Margarito...

Then he fought De La Hoya instead of Sugar Shane who had defeated De La Hoya twice... Fast forward to a 38 year old Mosley and they get the fight on.

Not only that, he ducked a possible De La Hoya rematched AND RETIRED from the sport, right when Cotto was a big name and there were a few options out there.

And he's doing the same strategy with Pacquiao, ducking him and fighting other names out there... and perhaps waiting until Manny turns shot and battered and then he'll drop the USADA excuse and fight him.
