Why are David Haye fans saying David Haye would beat Povetkin?

When David Haye never beat anyone as good as Povetkin at heavyweight?

It's embarrassing the UK boxing fans still support Haye after he flopped all over the canvas like the embarrassment he is to boxing. Povetkin beat Chagaev and Chambers. All Haye did at heavyweight was win a close fight against Valuev.

David Haye would beat Povetkin and I hate the bloke.

Haye is an athlete, Povetkin is not.

How can you say that if Haye's heavyweight resume is laughable? Haye never even beat anyone as good as Chagaev or Chambers at heavyweight. Haye ran from Wlad and flopped on the canvas trying to get points that way, I think he was trying to get Wlad DQ'd.

Haye done better than most heavyweights ever did vs Wlad though.

Haye is to smart and athletic for guys like Povetkin, Helenius. He is quick on his feet and is very fast for a HW. These guys just plod in the ring and are very ordinary.

Povetkin beating Chagaev tonight was no big deal tonight either, he has seen far better days.

If David Haye is as good as you claim, then why did he retire like the punk he is? And Haye looked like garbage against Wlad. All Haye does is make excuses saying he is too small for Heavyweight. I can't believe how overrated Haye is on here.

A fighter who runs from Wlad is not Wlad's best win. Beating Thompson and Chambers was much more impressive to me because they were try to win and not flop around the ring like a vag. And Chambers is not a big heavyweight either.

I'd definitely pick Haye, because Povetkin looks terrible now. He has no defense, he doesn't throw as often anymore, and he is a far worse athlete with no where near enough technique to make up for it against someone as fast and strong as Haye.

Maybe Povetkin will get a chance to prove me wrong, it makes sense for both if Haye wants to keep fighting.

Haye would do what he always does against any half decent opponent, run like a phaggot and try and pot shot his way to victory. How in the world would Sasha deal with those single, wild, looping overhand rights that come once or twice a round????

No way could Povetkin or any HW for that matter formulate a gamplan to deal with Haye's mastery of the art of Boxing.........dumb ***ing brits.

I'm as far as you can get from being a David Haye fan, yet I think David Haye would KO Povetkin.

Povetkin is easy to hit. If he had been in with a prime version of Chagaev today, instead of the current slower, faded version, he'd have been KOed after he was hurt in the 6th round.

Povetkin is tailor made for Haye, and tailor made for both Klitschkos and Helenius too.

David haye would have beaten povetkin tonight with 2 broken toes!
no seriously povetkin was nearly out of there if chagaev would have pressured him all the 12 rounds hard!

You don't have to be a David Haye fan to think that he might have a good shot at beating someone. I thought Haye beats Povs even before this fight, and that opinion hasn't changed any. If anything it's strengthened it, since we've now seen Povetkin can be hurt. Haye's workrate is abysmal, but he picks his shots well and has evolved a pretty effective style for coping with the big boys that at least keeps him on his feet. Povs can win the fight by being active, but I see him eating major leather and getting blasted out in the mid to late rounds. Just an honest prediction, nothing more.
