IMO, performance wise Cotto even though he fell short. Cotto showed promise and it's a fight you can look at and say that with a few adjustments on Cottos part - it would have been a competitive and close fight.

Margarito put on the most valiant and brave performance, he didn't have the skills to match Pacquiao but his heart was huge that night and he tried till the very last second. True showcase of desire and will. I earned a lot of respect for Margarito on that fight.

I don't know maybe Singsurat or Torrecampo? Out of recent opponents being last 4? Maybe Cotto was most competitive for the longest duration (being 2 and a half rounds), as oppose to a couple 20 sec durations of Margarito landing a few shots. Clottey was beat up the least, but he also never really attempted to win, so it depends on what you're looking for.

It has to be Clottey. People say Clottey didn't do jack **** but that's they way he fights.

Mosley ran, Clottey hid in his shell, Marg stopped Manny's onslaught with his face, and Cotto busted Manny's eardrum.

According to the poll, it's Miguel Cotto. However, at no point during the fight did I feel that Pacquiao was in trouble of losing the fight or even a couple of rounds in a row. Cotto did the best in terms of an overall showing, I might agree. However, Margarito is the only fighter that had Pacquiao visibly in trouble and hurt. Even if it was only for a few seconds in one round.

It's close, but I'd go with Margarito.

                Definitely Cotto.

Manny didn't walk out of that fight untouched.

...but he did whip Cotto's ass.

                  Margarito.

Cotto did ok for about 3 rounds and then ran and didnt punch for the remainder of the fight.

Margarito may have lost almost every round because he was being outpunched but he landed and hurt Pacquiao and was a threat all the way till a couple rounds before the end.

                    Joshua Clottey.

He had Pacquiao's face looking like it was i na war, and on top of that he didn't even take any damage whatsoever.

Cotto's performance was pathetic, literally running away for 8 rounds, not even trying to set anything up, not trying to box, nothing, just running.

Margarito was in Pacquiao's face all day but for nothing because he got his face beat in and disfigured. At least he did not run and he did look like he wanted to win. And was actually trying to fight smart at first by using the jab, but that cut really messed things up for him.

Mosley's performance was also pathetic but his jabbing and backpedaling made Pacquiao look average. And made his fans come up with the excuse that the fight was dull because Mosley didn't want to engage. Mosley didn't want to engage with Mayweather and that fight was still good. Pacquiao could have shown his cutting off skills, and the skill to find his opponent, but evidently those skills are non existent in Pacquiao's game. You HAVE to stand in front of Pacquiao in order for him to look good.
