  • Comments Thread For: Nacho: Alfredo Angulo Will Defeat Vanes, Then Canelo

Trainer Nacho Beristain, who now works with Alfredo Angulo, is confident that his boxer will defeat Vanes Martirosyan in a WBC junior middleweight eliminator, and even more confident that Angulo will beat the World Boxing Council's champion, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. Angulo recently returned after a long layoff and stopped Joseph Gomez in the first round. Despite the low activity level, Nacho said his boxer is ready for Vanes and Canelo.

Oscar ain't gonna throw the Dawg against Cinnamon Bun anytime soon! I think we all know that. As far as Martirosyan is concerned, I think Vanes does want the fight but won't get it next because of Angulo's visa problems... Personally, I'd rather see Angulo in a real tune-up fight because he's gone less than 5 minutes in his last two bouts (in the last 13-14 months). I think a great opponent would be Grady Brewer.

How about a real crossroads fight against Kermit Cintron, a win proves El Perro had an off night in their first fight where as a loss ends his career while granting Cintron another 9 lives? I think the best fight would be Angulo vs Molina. Throw that fight on any PPV undercard and they steal the show.

Angulo destroys Vanes. . . Canelo has the potential to beat Angulo, but it will be a close fight and a war of attrition.

the fight with Alvarez will never happen. Neither will a fight against JCCJR....I bet he fights a tune up (Yuri Foreman?) and then Cotto in the spring.
