Hayemaker’s ‘Head of Boxing’ David Coldwell will bring his own brand of bash to Birmingham on September 23rd when he stages a ten-fight card at the city’s Tower Ballroom venue. Local boy Max Maxwell faces Avon’s Martin Robins in a main event that Coldwell believes will catch fire early and sets the tone for the supporting bouts. How does a Main Event set a tone for the undercard bouts? Are they gonna have the "Main Event" be the first fight of the night followed by the undercards? Doesnt make sense.

Meant it in the sense that the match-up is talked about first and outlines Dave's philosophy for the rest of the bill. I can highly recommend Coldwell's shows, he loves the sport and enjoys nothing more than putting on raucous bills

Ahh, thanks for clarifying. I dont live in UK but I love what you guys are doing with your Boxing, making it affordable for the average fans. Here in canada we RARELY have Pro-Shows and even when local Canadian talent fights its usually in a Hotel where tickets start like $300.

Maybe 1-2 shows a year where you can watch a fight for $50.

Thats something UK is doing right, you have promoters putting on these local shows that might not have the best talent but atleast people can go and watch these guys and support them.

So big props to them for putting it on, will it be streamed on the web? or is Sky / Channel 5 going to pick it up?

My bad, I got carried away watching Superman IV: The Quest For Peace when typing it so didn't make it as clear as I could.

We don't tend to broadcast small hall shows over here as Sky and the other channels focus on larger shows. Guys such as Dave, Steve Wood and Jon Pegg amongst others put on these shows without TV money and work really hard on them, hopefully they get some kind of platform down the line via the Internet, you never know.

Spencer Fearon does similar shows under his Hard Knocks Promotions banner and has picked up a TV deal with Premier Sports, if they like what Spencer does they may pick up further shows. Fingers crossed.
