I have a theory and my theory is that Team Margarito are leeking false information so that 1) Cotto looks scared in the public eye and 2)To make the hated Margarito a more sympathetic figure with the Mexican fans so that they support him. Arum freaking denied the story, Cotto has said nothing and the newspapers in PR have nothing either. I mean stop the BS team Margarito!

Nah, the pound won't affect him, the victory is good for Cotto and it doesn't take away from the victory.

I dont see how. Making this fight at 153 is pure mind games from team Cotto and imo is just a way for Cotto to *** with Margs and show he has the upper hand. I dont think Cotto feels he will have any type of advantage by making Margs come 1 pound under 154 when his last fight was at 150 and his career fighting weight has been 147.

153 wont make a difference i mean fighters usually come in at 1 or 1/2 pound from their contracted weight anyways so the catchweight is useless

Its bull**** as only Marg's manager has said anything and just yesterday Marg's trainer said the contract was signed at 154. Cotto would have no leverage to change the contract if it was signed already, but if it is true it doesn't matter.

No. The reason why I think he did is because the NYSAC has this weird rule that the NSAC also has that a fighter's limit isn't at exactly 154 pounds. The fighter can come in at 155.9 and still not be over the limit. With a catchweight though that eliminates that ruling.
