Funny how Vitali is just letting Fres take the lead. Oquendo probably thinks he can compete with Vitali & is chomping at the bit to get in the ring with him for real. Little does he know that if he ever did get in the ring with him.. he'd be fighting a fighter completely different than the one he sparred... One who immediately establishes control & is ready to hit you at will before you even set yourself... i love the false sense of confidence Fres has that he'd be able to beat him.. the fact that he's always said he could hang with the brothers is even more fodder.Comment

Funny thing about Fres is that a couple rounds here or there on a judge or two scorecards and the guy would be considered a top 10 heavy easy. Hes lost 4 times since 2004, and in all 4 fights I had him either winning or had it as a draw. Heck, against Holyfield I had him winning by 2 rounds and he had a 102 degree fever, had to wear a mask up until the ring walk because he had contagious strep throat....
I also see what the Klitschko's like using him, he has some really long arms, he's pretty quick and most importantly there seems to be a trust there to actually work on things and not view it as a fight with headgear. I always laugh when idiots say things like "I beat X in sparring" etc...Most real fighters view sparring as practice to work on things for the real thing.Comment

As for the second paragraph.. very wise words... a sparring session is not a boxing contest & while it can get testy & even competitive.. it's not meant to.. a fighter who's preparing to fight an opponent is actually paying the tab for his sparring partner to prepare him for the opponent & there should be no bravado involved as you're Not FIGHTING him.. you're practicing with him to get ready for the main event... some fighters use it as leverage like i got the best of this guy & this & that.. all bs.. in the ring wth judges & a referree is a different story.. almost like beating someone in the amateurs under different rules & with headgear while no experience at the professional level.. No indicator whatsoever of what would happen ina real sanctioned fight.Comment
