Why does Cotto want 150 lb catchweight?

Cotto used to be one of my favorite fighters but after b*tching out from Martinez and now wanting a catchweight I have lost respect for this guy. I thought he was a warrior, clearly he's not.

Cotto has fought twice at 154, and has the 154 title so there is no reason to ask for a catchweight, whats wrong with this guy. Can someone please tell me why he wants this and the logic behind it. Personally i think he is a better fighter than Margarito and will win without one.

Yeah this fight should be at 154, I haven’t been following this much has Cotto actually asked for a 150lb catch weight or is this just a rumour?

If he has asked for 150 its clearly a b!tch move he saw how drained Marg was against Pac at 150 I would expect Cotto to want to beat Marg on even terms (show he’s the better man) but searching for these advantages to me is just a no no.

I agree that catch weights during a title fight is bull****, but...when it comes to plasterito, I say *** that spineless piece of ****. Cotto is the one running **** now, so that bum can just sit his cheating ass down and get paid one last time.

Sad if Margarito beats his ass again regardless of weight and plaster.

If true, I dont like the move from Cotto but at the same time, when has this come out of Cotto's mouth? Garcia said that the fight is signed at 154, didnt he? Also, this is like the 5th or 6th thread over the past 2 days about the same subject. Lets just wait til the final details are out before jumping to conclusions.

Because that's his perfect weight right now. He's a small 154. Cotto has Cheato against the wall and cheato can't do anything about it. Cheato did it for Pac and will have to do it for Cotto.

I'm glad Cotto is making the fight at the catch weight. Margarito had an unfair advantage in the first fight so It's payback time. If Margarito don't want or can't make the weight don't fight him, it's his loss.

yeah but no need to demand a fight at 150 when they both made 154 confortably in their last fight. You are right, Margarito did have the advatage in the first fight fighting in Las Vegas and possibly with Hand wraps but This fight taking place in New York this time is good enough advantage for Cotto IMO. No need to play the WEIGHT game!! But like I said, These demands have been said from Roberto Garcia and Steve Kim...I have yet to hear it from Cotto.

                  Guys.

Contracts already been signed. The fight is at a confirmed 154 by Arum ! He originally said the CW was BS. Stop trying to dog Cotto every chance you get. This fights at a full 154. Contracts have been signed ! Or esle we wouldn't have a confirmed date. Relax. This is the reason why Pacquiaos accused by fans, you guys believe every word the media says. You puppets.

Thats what I've been saying. Steve Kim's source is probably Roberto Garcia himself. But if true and Cotto is trying to modify the contract, then yes its a ***** move!
