    Is Cotto-Martinez @ 154 a mismatch?

I saw someone make that statement on another thread and I was intrigued to know if people agree or not. It's an interesting question when you think about it..

So, is Cotto-Martinez @ 154 a mismatch and for who?

there's nothing wrong with the fight getting made if it did though

The thing is, pretty much everyone at @ 160 and under is a mismatch for Martinez so it isn't saying much.

Martinez beat an over hyped Paul Williams and a drunk Kelly Pavlik and now he is unbeatable and amazing. Before this forum gave a **** about Martinez I was one of the few guys who tought he was the real deal but common people he can't match the hype. His resume is average and he gets hit a lot. Hell Kermit gave him a decent fight even if he lost. Cotto would be the best fighter he has ever faced and Martinez style is made in order for Cotto the only problem would be the weight because Cotto is a WW but P4P is not a mismatch at all.

Have to agree I don't see a mismatch. I'm not sure Cotto wins but a mismatch? At 154 Naw !!!

Martinez is quicker, way more power, better chin, higher workrate. Cotto get knocked out.

Cotto is a monster, but he's too small to go 12 with Martinez. I'd prefer watching Martinez clean out the middleweight division and maybe becoming the next undisputed champ of the division.
