Michael Irvin schools Floyd Mayweather about fear of losing

He told a Showtime reporter that Floyd needs to "stop messing around by making us brothers look bad". Of course, like most boxing fans worldwide, Irvin has a hankering for a showdown between Pacquiao and Mayweather.
He's rooting for Pacquiao so perhaps he was ready to tweak Money May and risk disrespecting him by calling him a chicken.
He characterized the delay tactics of Camp Mayweather as "running", a dangerous thing to say to a man who fights for a living. "Stop running," Irvin continued in his 30 second sound bite on the subject.
He felt compelled to school Floyd about fearing a loss. Irvin used to play a team sport, namely wide receiver for the NFL's Dallas Cowboys. He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and knows that winning is important, but understanding the meaning of a loss when one occurs is just as important.
"Get in the ring. Even if you lose, it's an honorable loss," claims Irvin. "I always say that any man who trains hard, works hard, busts his ass and even if he died working...that's an honorable loss."
Add Irvin to the chorus of those that believe that the delay in getting a contract for a fight between the two titans of the sport, has more to do with keeping an undefeated record than drug testing.
Some athletes have opined that Floyd is just waiting until he can get the lion's share of the purse, by pointing to his no-loss record as well as his clear dominance in getting folks to buy pay-per-view showings of his fight.
Mayweather will have another chance to demonstrate that he is the draw that drives the PPV revenue stream, when he takes on Victor Ortiz on September 17 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Manny Pacquaio will be at the same venue in November to complete a trilogy of fights with the tough Juan Manuel Marquez.
Measure up the dollars, something that "Money" Mayweather professes to know all about, after the two bouts and see if Floyd has a point regarding his demand for more than a 50-50 split
