Comments Thread For: Goossen Wants Paul Williams To Return By Year's End

Dan Goossen has a clear idea of what to do next with Paul Williams, and it doesn’t involve Erislandy Lara, Sergio Martinez, or any other southpaws. Goossen would like to see Williams, who is coming off a disputed majority decision win against Lara on July 9, win convincingly against a fighter with a conventional stance by the end of the year, though no date or venue has been determined. lol damn right he's going to fight an orthodox fighter. I don't see any southpaws in his future, possibly forever.

Paul needs to work on a few things outside the ring first

He should never fight another southpaw again unless he plans on making huge changes, which he doesn't appear to be willing to do. He just can't avoid a southpaw straight left. I want to see him fight a decent conventional fighter to know for sure if he's shot, but if he doesn't look good in this next fight he should just hang them up.

PW needs a new trainer and new management, his current team is ruining his career.

This is true. I don't like throwing blame around a fighter's team, but in this case it's really obvious that they are a cancer to him.
