Most of us here on this forum are die-hard boxing fans. I know I am. Sometimes too much I think. Anyway, as you all know, life can be tough and sometimes things seem to not work out the way we expect. My question is: Have you ever felt like boxing means more to you than just a simple sport? Have you felt like it helps you hold on during rough times in life? This may sound a bit too psychological, but I would like to know if anyone else has seen the sport as some sort of inspiration.
Has boxing ever been your inspiration?

My life revolves around boxing..
My future relies on boxing..
I'm moving to Detroit in July, so I can box, and live the life of my dreams, I will give it my all, over there will be good for me, because I don't know anyone there, and my whole life would revolve around boxing over there.
Wake up in the mornings go run.
Then go to school/work/whatever, then go to the gym...
Then I go to work or whatever for a few...Then I go home at 10 and sleep, then wake up at 5:30 the next day etc.
I can't wait...It's going to be hard, rough, tough but lets see where it takes me...
If boxing dies, I die, boxing is my life...
When I go to Detroit, I will not have cable, the internet, nothing really..
Just a roof, some food, a tv with vcr so I can watch boxing tapes, and just about that till I get everything off...Comment

Some might disagree, but I personally think that is pretty good. At least it would suit me. Too bad I never practiced boxing as a young kid. At least, I'll try to become a boxing judge someday, since I have noticed I am good at scoring fights.Originally posted by Tha_GreatestMy life revolves around boxing..

I got made redundant about 8 months ago and was out of work for three months. Boxing (downloading fights/chatting on forums/looking forward to tv fights) helped starve off boredom during that time.
Chatting about boxing in the day helps me to stay sane when I'm at work too, (High pressured job). It gives me a chance to have a little break throughout the day and keeps my stress levels down.Comment

There's tons of routes in boxing you can go to man..
BTW disagree with what exactly? Confused there..
Also, I will win the title and bring it to Puerto Rico..

That is more or less similar to what I meant originally.Originally posted by Martin (Top Knowledge)I got made redundant about 8 months ago and was out of work for three months. Boxing (downloading fights/chatting on forums/looking forward to tv fights) helped starve off boredom during that time.

I mean that if you tell someone with a perfect life and no need for everything that you will go to Detroit and do that, they'll probably tell you that you are crazy or are a loser or some stuff like that. They would disagree when you tell them that it's good and it pumps you up.Originally posted by Tha_GreatestThere's tons of routes in boxing you can go to man..

Well, they can call me what they want...In 7-8 years, when I'm on HBO dismantling Chavez Jr, Amir Khan, Edwin Valero, and/or Vicente Escobedo..lets see what they say then.Originally posted by Exciterx22I mean that if you tell someone with a perfect life and no need for everything that you will go to Detroit and do that, they'll probably tell you that you are crazy or are a loser or some stuff like that. (I hope I do)
In boxing, there is lot of negative people that doubt you and try and put you down, but that is what makes a great fighter, proving the skeptics wrong!
When I go there, I will have nothing to distract me, no internet, no partying, no nothing...
Wake up, go do my thing, then go to Kronk and train, go to work and/or home..
ETC.
There are lot of haters, there are lot of people on this website that flame me, but their just jealous that I have dreams and goals. I can care less about them.Comment
