The truth is that Lemieux has more power than Martinez, Lemieux's problem is that he's only 22 and he wasn't serious enough in his training, that's why he ran out of gaz in a fight that he was winning every round. The kid thought he didn't need to do sparring for a fight.
Now, he's sparring with Martinez, i wouldn't bet against him...Leave a comment:

david was smacked out by rubio. lemieux doesn't know how to throw a jab, or a straight punch to save his life. he is probably one of the most powerful boxers on the inside, and is pretty technically sound there too. but he can't box his way in against upper-tier competition. rubio is far from a bum, but he's nothing special. . . now we gotta wait another 2-3 years before he fights somebody of note. . . wish him all the best, but i don't think he has the chin/heart/punch resistance to go along with his exciting, nasty "inside-fighting" style.Leave a comment:

Good to hear, he needs to rebound and fight smart. If he fought smarter against Rubio he would have won.Leave a comment:

According to promoter Yvon Michel, middleweight contender David Lemieux (25-1, 24 KOs), 22-year-old, has learned a lot after spending some time in the Oxnard, California training camp of Sergio Martinez, who is recognized as the best at 160-pounds. Martinez is training for his October bout with Darren Barker, while Lemieux is getting ready for a fall return, which is the young fighter's first return to the ring since the shocking seven round TKO loss to Marco Antonio Rubion in April.
