i watched the first bruno tyson fight the other day. for all those people who think WLad clinched a lot against Peter go back and watch this fight.

Frank Bruno porbably clinches 20 times a round, and probably throw about 5 punches, some of the most pitiful boxing i have ever seen. i dont care what anybody says, bruno was a bum.

Bruno in his prime would be a serious, serious threat to anyone in the division today.

He wasn't a great boxer, but with a punch like that he didn't need to be. What did Bruno in as a professional was a weak set of whiskers. Give him an iron chin and he beats Tyson and Lewis easily IMO.

Even with the weak chin, he made guys nervous to be in there with him.

Yeah, Frankie definitely wasn't the best. I imagine it would be harder to fight a little pitbull that was coming in under your jab than someone your own size though. I wonder what 86 Lennox would have made of an 86 Tyson?

Don't forget though, circumstance played its part... bizarrely, when Tyson came out of prison, Lewis was back to being a contender and Frank was champ of the world. Twilight Zone.

Not a chance. He's an amazing boxer and he stayed potent for much much longer than most other boxers, but he's just too old. That "age is just a number" stuff is nonsense - the body breaks down as you get older, that's just the way it is, and even Larry Holmes' skill can't make up for that at the age of 56, fighting guys in their prime...
