These fights are just so Montiel can gain back his confidence. Dude was brutally KO'd Ricky Hatton style. Not many fighters come back the same after losing in dramatic fashion such as that. If he went the Pwills way it would have been a mistake. Pwills should have had a tune-up, and his people knew he struggled with southpaws.

I thought this was a good rival ... he wasn't the best, but he was good for Montiel because he was a strong, tall rival, and also a southpaw. This fight helped Montiel to be a little more careful, that's why during the first two rounds he decided that it was best to find his perfect distance, and then attack, unlike the fight with Nonito when he was just too eager to attack and was caught by a good hand by the Filipino boxer.

you a and putoricanboxing are a bunch of morons. These two last fighters montiel has faced arent bums, Cermeno lost two close fights to moreno and beat mijares twice. That was a great win specially since he was moving up to face the bigger guy

OK, is it just me, or did it seem like Montiel really didnt land a punch on that KO sequence? What is going on in Mexico? #boxing #boxeo

                  Interesting....first Angulo than Montiel
