    mayweather-ortiz

ortiz is a great fighter, but mayweather is a master of the game, this is a easy win for mayweather without a doubt!

agree that PBF's age and inactivity could be a big factor -- but Diaz's style is pefrect for him -- think Diaz is a very live underdog because you don't know what you're going to get from Mayweather at this point, if his head is really into the fight game any more

Ive got the feeling that floyd doesn't really like boxing anymore. . . that he only does it for the money. but that money motivates him onward. . . i expect the same sharp mayweather. . . i just don't see how ortiz can win this fight; everything he can do, floyd can do better. inside, outside, doesn't matter. ortiz doesn't have the speed and power like pacquiao to start negating some of the skill advantages.

Floyd is my favorite active fighter but every undefeated fighter loses that 0 sooner or later, and Floyd did this to himself with his ****** 2 year lay offs, twice in his career, that's nearly 4 years of vacation. On September 17, it is very possible for us to say goodbye to that zero.

If Floyd can prove me wrong and beat Ortiz, that would be good, but people are overrating Mayweather and sleeping on Ortiz.
Your first paragraph, it sounds like you're underrating Floyd. I like to believe that Floyd fights like he's playing a chess match. Floyd would never step back in the ring to be anyone's stepping stone. If he wasn't 100% sure in his skills and abilities, he wouldn't of taken this fight. If he thought for one second that the layoff/age would be a significant factor in whether he wins or loses this fight, he wouldn't of come back. Regardless of all the foolishness he gets himself into when he's outside of the ring, he seems to be a disciplined person when it comes to his physical health. Plus, he hasn't been in several ring wars like most fighters his age have. His style has given him longevity. I honestly don't think that his age or the layoff will affect his performance. Maybe he has lost a step or two, but I haven't noticed it tbh. Maybe he does get hit a little more, but it's still miniscule. It IS boxing after all. So with all that said, if Ortiz wins, it'll be because he fought valiantly and had his head screwed on tight. It won't because of Floyd's age/long layoff.

Floyd will be pressured like he rarely ever is, but I still feel he will out-box and out-think Ortiz, his experience and mental toughness will be the key.

true, but layoffs dont effect those who spend their lives in the gym like Floyd does. the man doesnt party like a rockstar. you never see him overweight, living it up like Hatton, with the drinking or over indulging. He hasnt taken any punishment inside the ring besides a few flush shots. like Hopkins, Floyd is always in excellent condition.

Ortiz is going to be patient, and take his time, by breaking Mayweather down round by round - until the knockout comes.

It's all fight hype! When the smoke clears Floyd just has another victory! His ring IQ alone will be too much for Ortiz. Ok, we know what you want to do in the ring vs Floyd, but when the bell rings it's a different story...your game plan is out the window. The only person that will be broken down will be Ortiz IMO.
