right now i think tarver could win this fight, he is on top of his game and has very underrated power. he also is a counter puncher, which does not bode well for lacy.
in a year or two, if lacy develops the way its looking like he will, he will be able to beat tarver

It is a tough fight to call for sure...With Jeff Lacy's bull like style he would force Tarver to sit down on his punches in order to get respect...(like Cotto forced Corely to do)

One thing is for sure, we would find out once and for all what kind of shot Left Hook can take!

I like Lacy very slightly but I cant help but think about Eric Harding getting smoked and if LAcy goes in a guns a blazing I could see Tarver landing that bomb.

      Great fight to watch!

Styles make fiths whoever can impose their will would take the fight. Look at the glencoffe vs tarver fights. Glencoffe a bullish type figher tried to bull his way over Tarver. It worked once it failed once. Lacy might pull it out but I think that Tarver would pull out the win. And Yes Lacy or Tarver would both beat the Hell out of Cal***gy, as they would be the first opponents that he didnt pay the mortician to prop up in the ring on stands.

I love Lacy and hope he becomes the next superstar, but he is easy to hit and is a brwler by nature. Tarver would pick him apart at this point .

I would pick Tarver to win this one.

i agree . BUT tarver has slipped recently and seems to run out of gas , so that could be his downfall against a young and pumped up lacy . but a prime tarver sends lacy to school .

i couldn't make a pick for this fight, i honestly would just to watch it and be suprised regardless the outcome. because i think lacy is a wealth of potential- but at the same time i just don't feel like i've seen him beat any really important names. the one thing about lacy that is not arguable is that he is a really really good finisher. at least from what i saw in the reid fight (despite all the really REALLY weird technicalities that went down that night). but again as someone else said- tarver's defense is really good, so that might not even matter. but if lacy got the same kind of stutter out of tarver that roy did in round 5 a couple weeks back- it would end right then and there.

I'm telling you both Tarver and Hopkins have the best defenses in the game.

Tarver has boxing skills but I think he'd run out of gas in later rounds against Lacy, and start getting hit. He was dead tired in the last few rounds againt RJ. Lacy has a good chin and I don't think Tarver is active enough to put together a series of punches that could hurt Lacy.

Lacy by TKO in the mid to late rounds.

Lacy's still green. He hasn't beat a big name yet AND on top of that Tarver walks around at 195-200. I'm pretty sure he's not going down to super middleweight so lacy would have to come up. Not sure if Lacy would keep is power up at 175.

Tarver would probably end up the fight with his money straight left. He has an awesome defense, just look at the 2nd fight with Glen Johnson. IMO Johnson is better then Lacy now, Lacy will be a better fighter but Tarver took the fight to him with combinations and such.

                    Tarver UD.

                      Lacy would walk through tarver.

                      2 things tarver doesn't have.
