Roach and Aziza stronger than Roger and Leonard but that is irrelevant. Floyd figures fighters out and such natural instincts and athleticism that all the BS inbetween rds doesnt matter. All Roger ever says is "keep doing what you doin" and Floyd just looks forward rarely acknowledging anything...while Leonard tells him "just box his ass...this is what we do." Very predictable. Mayweather even said after the Mosley fight that his team's job is simply to keep the stress off of him and to take care of all of his business and errands. Roger might have taught him a few things in the past and helped mold his defense and quickness during mitt workouts, but come fight night...all the training goes out the window and it's about skills and heart. Period. -
Good response I think Roach is the best trainer in the biz but come fight night I feel like he doesn't get thru to his fighters and can't get them to change what they've been trained to do. While your right Roger just says keep boxing but I feel like Floyd listens to him and he can get thru to Floyd
Your right tho it all comes down to heart, skill and the will to win. Cuz they're both at such a high levelComment

Sidenote...I was watching a Mayweather vs. Gatti training video with Mayweather and Roger and Roger was outstanding working the mitts with Floyd and I could see how that enhanced Floyd's reflexes and quickness. But it seems like recent mitt workouts with Roger have slowed down due to his age and health. I wonder how much this affects Floyd on fight night. After the mosley fight Floyd even mentioned Roger's deteriorating health and whether or not he would be able to continue on. I wonder if they are going to have a younger and faster person in there doing this with floyd going forward.Good response I think Roach is the best trainer in the biz but come fight night I feel like he doesn't get thru to his fighters and can't get them to change what they've been trained to do. One thing I'll give Roger though is his own experience in the ring and with Floyd on big fight nights. He's been there and doesnt seem to let the moment get too big for himself or Floyd. And Roger brings some authentic mojo into the ring also. The Judah fight being a perfect example...Floyd knows Roger has his back and nothing like family when shidt hits the fan.Comment

Roger was a world champion and has trained other good fighters, but he usually right when he tells Floyd to put pressure on the guy or to go to the body. I have the Floyd collection and the info that Roger provides is usually spot on. Now when he has to face adversity is the time we take a good look at what his corner is telling him and is the advice sound or the same old father to son theory like Shane Mosley got from his father. I feel Floyd will only fight two or three more fights and in one or more of those fights he will face adversity. FLOYD is a highly skilled and very quick fighter but so was Judah, Meldrick Taylor, Vivian Harris and numerous others. Floyd Sr and Roger transformed floyd from his natural athleticism to a defensive freak and a counter punching phenom. Many fighters say they can beat Floyd but when they get in the ring they wind up missing wildly or get countered when they get tired, body gets broken down and usually many cant adjust because there a one trick pony.Roach and Aziza stronger than Roger and Leonard but that is irrelevant. I hate to say this but if Ortiz doesnt have a solid Jab then his all ahead forward power style may get him dominated. If PAC thinks just overwhelming Floyd with pressure is the answer he will be surprised once he gets circled and jabbed and countered all night. I know PAC likes to trade blows and loves for fighters to trade with him but Floyd want do that. He will try to hit and not get hit and I wouldnt be surprised to see him go to PAC body to slow him doan and see how PAC handles a fighter up close to him and fighting in the pocket.Comment
