ESPN's Joe Tessitore RIPS Floyd Mayweather

8CN Exclusive: ESPN's Joe Tessitore "Floyd Mayweather is bad for boxing"

I don't think Ortiz will get damaged in there but I think he will lose. I get that he's a 24 yr old kid that wants to make money. Floyd is not good for boxing.

The most important thing to Floyd Mayweather is to stay undefeated. He hand picks his opponents and he will pick Pacquiao when he feels Pacquiao will be less of a threat to him. I don't know that Floyd could go forward a day in his life if he has a loss in boxing.

It is funny how Tessitore rags on most of the biggest fighters as bad for the sport, he ripped on Manny, he rips on Floyd, he rips on the Klitskcho's.

I guess whatever floats your boat but boxing is a star driven business they are very important to the success of the sport because at least someone is profitable in boxing without that there is no incentive to take a risk on a future star nor would anyone get involved because there is no pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (no matter how unlikely it is to even get within throwing distance of that pot of gold).

Sure there deserves to be criticism and no one is above that but there is a big picture involved.

It is RIDICULOUS that a 34 year old, inactive guy would cherrypick a 24 year old active champion. Poor Ortiz.

        Floyd is such a b!tch.

This is boxing, EVERYONE who is a pro handpicks their opponents. Its a sport that's driven by professional matchmakers. I.e people that are paid to handpick opponents for their fighters.

The trick is to make the matches seem natural and competitive.

The problem with Floyd is that he cherrypicks so blatantly that its impossible not to notice his flagrant ducks.

Inactive coz he's been ducking and hiding with his so called "vacation". He only comes out to cherrypick when the No.1 P4P has a fight lined up already.

How many welterweights did this 24 y/o beat anyway?

He may be right on Floyd waiting on Pacquiao to slip up (although Floyd isn't getting any younger himself) but Ortiz is the next best thing other than Pac...

It can be a dangerous fight for Floyd, especially if he will fight the way he says he is going to...

And at the end of the day EVERYONE who is at the top in boxing picks opponents...Leonard did, Oscar, Bernard, Floyd, etc.
