Believe it or not, Mares reminds me of a young Barrera. Remember when Barrera was more of a brawler and then came into his own by becoming more of a boxer? I see Mares going in the same direction as he gets older.

Even if you watch Mares style, it's similar to an early version of Barrera IMO, watch his mannerisms.

not even close in terms of fihting style. diaz was a bull who used the jab just to make enough space to move in and get in his opponents chest before a counter and stay there and that was the extent of it. mares, while no one punch KO power can put you on ***** street pretty quickly and can move around the ring beautifully and keep you on the end of that jab. one thing that they both share however, is that determination.

we'll see - marez has, IMO, already beaten better opposition than diaz.

still can't get that sick ****en upper that JMM landed on diaz out my mind - that was disgusting.

I don't know about Barrera tho bro..I thought Barrera had a better jab and applied way more pressure(even when he tried to box more)I just thought both these fighters threw crazy punches and like to apply pressure..Mares looks like he has a better chin then Diaz tho..If you watch the fight with Diaz and Kat's he really reminds me of Mares in his fight against Perez....
