The original plan was to schedule a welterweight clash between two second generation Mexican boxers on September 3 in Mexicali. Zanfer Promotions is now looking to go in another direction. Omar Chavez (26-0-1, 19KOs) and Jorge Paez Jr. (28-4-1, 17KOs) will still see action on September 3, but not against each other. Zanfer wants to feature the two boxers in separate fights to build some motion behind a tentative fall clash. If both boxers win their fights, Zanfer wants to match them in November.

nice... I think Paez has some nice skills but Chavez is the next closest thing to his Pops. Omar is the future. That kid is gonna be Legit!! Forget Canelo, JC Jr, Segura, etc. Omar will be the face of Mexican boxing in 2-3 years. That said I think they are both young and hungry. Will the pressure to fill their dads shoes be too much? I just hope these 2 future champs dont hurt each other too much. Omar by KO 65% or UD 35%
