Never seen a fighter say he can beat another fighter in 12 months, not that it has never happened, just that I have never seen it. If you ask Bradley if he would fight Mayweather now, he'd say yes, Martinez would say yes, Lara would say yes, Berto would say yes, Ortiz said yes, anybody would have the confidence. If you're not confident you can beat him now, what fight is gonna get you ready for him in 12 months? Paul McCloskey, Zab Judah, Matthew Hatton?

On the other hand it could be viewed as Khan being realistic about the prospect of fight and beating Mayweather when/if the time comes. If he were to come out and say he could beat Mayweather right now, it would be ludicrous since he has no experience at fighting at welterweight and hasn't hit his peak yet.

That said, I don't see even a 2012 version of Amir Khan winning a decision against Floyd Mayweather unless Mayweather declines quite a bit.
