True or False? I think Showtime generally only buys the fights that make sense for the fans. Showtime doesn't try to buy fights that are going to be mismatches but HBO seems like they don't care if certain fighters avoid fights that would be tough rematches.

Even on shobox fights it seems like showtime generally wants a fighter to be fighting a step-up in competition which generally they do. Not to mention names but they're fighters who don't even get on espn/shobox because of their piss poor opponent selection and I'm talking about fighters with more than 10 wins in their pro-career.Comment

Yep you hit it on the money. HBO often makes deals with fighters to have X number of fights on their network. HBO gives themselves the flexibility to say to the fighters that a certain opponent is not up to par, but more often then not they are paying for a fighter's name and not the match up.Comment

I'd like for HBO to push for Khan/Maidana II rematch in December and I'm sure most fans would like to see foty rematch aswell. I'd like HBO to grow some balls and tell Khan if he doesn't fight Maidana in a rematch in Decemember than he doesn't get a date with HBO in December.
Have fun fighting England when everyone knows the money is in America. Just so sick of how HBO bows down to all their fighters like the fighters call the shots, the fans of this sport and HBO should be the one telling a boxer who he fights.Comment
