If Floyd really walks around 147-150 why didnt he make weight for Marquez?

i saw that fight but it was a long time ago...can no longer remember the details. and how would you know from watching it on youtube, can you understand the language?

Well, then i'll fill in the details. It was a cw which Manny failed to make weight for. So hes just as bad as Floyd, so either judge them both or drop it.

I don't understand the language, no. But i enjoy watching fights and reading up on news articles etc at times. It helps to fill in the blanks, and makes it more fun to me than just go to youtube and check boxrec.

It's actually common knowledge, so I'm surprised you would 1) not know about it despite liking pac as much as you seem to do, and 2) it being widely spread.

I don't think it's a big deal, and i almost never give manny flack about it. I only mention it when some of the more irritating pacfans come out and heckle floyd or his fans over him missing the cw against Marquez.

I thought most of that was a reaction to people saying Floyd was a small welterweight.

When he didn't make weight, that's when people kicked in with the he's not that small rebuttal.

well if you read the news article then providing the link would not be bad. fight was far from being high profile at a lower weight where weight categories are 3 lbs apart. it was a non-title fight between young fighters who are just at the beginning of their boxing careers...asking for catchweight just doesn't make sense.

He didn't make weight because frankly it didn't hurt him to come in hydrated and pay the very small fine to assure the victory even more. He knew Marquez was going to take the fight for the money.

If it had been 1 million dollar penalty per pound like some other fights you bet your ass he woulda ****ted those 5lbs off.

However at such a small penalty in a fight where you are getting paid many millions and your opponent earns his check only if he fights you no one in their right mind would come in weight. And that is what he did.

Fine, it was not a title fight. Does that make it better? Neither was floyd vs Marquez.
And Manny did miss weight when defending his title, but that doesn't count because it was not a catchweight?

I agree It's bad floyd missed weight. But **** happens, and if you want to heckle him for it, you should at least do the same with pac (or admit hes equally in the wrong).
