Pirog and Golovkin need to fight each other. Also, what they have done in the amateurs doesn't hold much merit in the pros, they need to prove themselves a bit more to be considered actual threats. Yes, they've looked good so far, but against decent to not so good opposition. I do agree with you though, Sergio Martinez and his camp are ducking the top 10 Middleweights, or at least all the other titleholders. Golovkin only weighs 160 pounds on fight night. He would get killed by Martinez. Other than these mythical sparring sessions, Golovkin hasn't beaten anyone of note in his pro career.

He beat Zibik, who was ranked #6 in ring magazine in the middleweight division. It's a better win the Daniel Jacobs. Not to say Chaves is necessarily better than Pirog, but Martinez gets nothing out of beating Pirog. He's just a prospect with a paper title.

pirog's already fought in the states on hbo for 50k. martinez would rather fight an unknown junior middleweight and pay him 800k then fight a dangerous middleweight and earn more of the pie.
