I'm so torn between Guerrero and Maidana

As you can see in my picks I have Guerrero over Maidana. That was from Day 1.

Today at work I was thinking about it though. Guerrero has a tendency to get hurt when he loses focus, look at the Casamayor fight. During the Yordan fight he seemed to take the easy way out. Klassen was pushing him around a bit towards the end of their fight.

Maidana on the other hand, fights at the level of his opposition. When Guerrero starts tiring thats when Maidana mounts loads of pressure. Maidana lands hard shots regardless and we've seen Guerrero doesn't react very well. Not to mention Maidana is a legit 140 pounder.

I leaned towards Maidana for a minute, when back to Guerrero, but now I'm not sure. I will wait until the day before the fight. That my fellow boxing fans, is what makes this fight so great.

i think i would kind ofpick guererro but miadana is gonna test his chin and hemight not hold up against a fulsized 140 puncher....

i guess thats why its a good match up...

iive always loved boxers vs punchers.

I've already bet $122 for the fight to go over 9 1/2, and $40 on Guerrero. The only fight I've seen of Guerrero is against Katsidis, so I'm kinda picking blindly here. But he seems to have the style to beat Maidana. From what I saw, he's a good boxer with a piston jab, good right hook and can throw 3-4 punch combinations. Chino is similar to Katsidis, except he has more power, is more durable, and has no problems throwing caution to the wind. All he has to do is stay calm, use his superior reach and pound Maidana with the jab. He cannot allow Maidana to get him into a brawl. As long as he does that, he'll win by UD.

It really is a good match up. Guerrero has the skills to cut Maidana up a little bit, but he also tends to have a lot of bad spots. I favor Guerrero, but not by a lot.

            I picked Maidana.

But I wouldn't bet on it.

                that's the smart pick.

my head says guerrero, heart says maidana.

even though guerrero has a pretty compelling personal story.

I'll go with Maidana but this is an even fight to me.

Maidana was knockdowned by Amir Khan and Victor Ortiz. One a vicious power puncher who is Ortiz and the other a fast accurate puncher named Khan.

Guerrero was knockdowned by Michael Katsidis. Katsidis who knockdowned Juan Manuel Marquez.

Anyway, it is a testament that both boxers are power punchers. Still, if I have to bet real money then I'll go with Guerrero just because he is an accurate puncher with power behind it. He has patience and technique.

But as a fan who has no bet behind it, I'm going for Maidana because I'm a freaking fan of his.

This is an easy fight to pick to me. Guerrero by decision. He's much more skilled. He's much faster. He's got the southpaw stance going for him. I just don't think Maidana has much of a shot. his power is not that great to where he can change the fight with one punch.
