CHOO CHOO All Aboard the Amir "HARDCORE: Mansour Express, Next Stop HW Championship!

Amir Mansour, the guy has great skills and serious power and very athletic (watch some of his knockouts on youtube) by the looks of it.. He is 39 years old but dont let that fool you because he done a 10 year stretch inside mid-career, meaning his body has taken no physical wear and tear and is still Fresh, He is fighting on the 19th against Dominic Gunn for the NABO and IBF inter-continental HW titles, A win here should put him in the top 10 on the IBF and WBO Rankings, this fight is a big step up for him and Gunn has never been knocked out, if he knocks him out (which im confident he will) this will definately send shockwaves throughout the HW division, So if you want to get on board, now is the time!!!

Dominick Guinn is a solid boxer and has never been stopped before. Amir has never fought more than four rounds, so Guinn is going to test Amir's stamina and chin. This fight on friday is really going to tell us a lot about Amir. A win should put him in the top 15-20, not top 10.

I respect anybody who manages to turn their life around after prison. Let's hope he becomes one of those people.

age is the only thing working against this guy, he says he really wants the klitchko fight, and if they can sign to fight chisora maybe he could be in with a chance, i just hope he has the right people around him and makes the right moves, but not too quick even though he is 39.

Promising heavyweight boxer was 9-0 after his last fight in 2001

Former Pennsgrove boxer Amir Mansour is trying to get his life on track after an eight-year prison term, and in his case that means going from a halfway house to the ring.

At one-time a promising heavyweight, Mansour is scheduled to return in Dover, Del., on Aug. 27, as part of the undercard to the IBF Junior Middleweight title fight between Terrance Cauthen of Trenton and Ahmad Kaddour of Denmark.

No opponent has yet been listed for Mansour, but that's the least of his obstacles. He is not scheduled to be released from a halfway house until the morning of the planned bout.

Whether in action or not, Mansour hopes things will work out better than the aftermath of his last fight, in June 2001. Two months later, he was busted on drug charges, and spent eight years in federal prison.

At the time of his arrest, Mansour was 9-0 in the ring. While eight of his opponents had losing records, he still was viewed as a promising young fighter.

"I was busted for possession of drugs and the experience was humiliating," Mansour said in a press release issued by Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, which is promoting the event.

While he lost what could have been the heart of his boxing career, Mansour said his time in prison was not wasted. Instead, it was "a wake up call" that enabled him to obtain a college degree while incarcerated.

After his release, Mansour said, he intends to live in Newark, Del., and hopes to become a juvenile drug and alcohol counselor, "to help steer them away from the wrong path I chose." He also credits his mother, his three young sons and their mothers with holding him accountable.

"My mom helped take care of the kids," he said. "My boys' mothers made sure nothing was taken away from my sons."

Acknowledging "there is no glory" in his own youthful choices, Mansour is not exactly humble about his prospects in the ring. Even with the gap in is career, "no one is faster, stronger, hits harder than me," he said.

He shouldn't be talking about Klit. This guy is still extremely green. He needs more rounds man. None of us know if he can keep up the workrate when the fight isn't finished after four rounds. We don't even know if he can beat a solid top 50 guy. So far he has only fought tomato cans. Guinn is a huge step up in class.

Even though he has a lot against him, he's actually an interesting fighter. We will know a lot more about him after this friday, that's for sure.
